Another WA5VLZ vintage operating position consists of a National HRO Sr and a National NTX-30 mounted in a 6' rack with a pull out table. Both of these are 1939 vintage. Also shown in this picture is a homebrew transmitter built by Merrill Eidson, W5AMK (see "The Oldest Crystal House in Texas", QST, Dec 1991). This AM-CW transmitter uses 2 812s push-pull in the final and was built over a period of years from the late 30s into the 50s.
